# Two different products. Two different rules.

The desktop app sends no telemetry. This website may load analytics. The app and this website do not share your video links, accounts, or crash reports with each other.

## The desktop app

KeepCopy is built so you can use yt-dlp without a terminal, without creating an account, and without sending us a copy of the link you pasted.

- Zero telemetry and zero crash reporting.
- A pasted URL goes only from your computer to the video host you chose. It is never forwarded through our servers.
- On first launch the app downloads the official yt-dlp release and installs a bundled ffmpeg on this computer. After that, looking up a newer yt-dlp release is optional and you can turn it off. Those calls never include the URLs you paste.
- Every downloadable app artifact has a published SHA-256 checksum.
- Windows builds are signed when signing is available. If SmartScreen still warns on first run, that is a reputation delay on a new publisher — not the app phoning home. Signing status is spelled out next to each build.

Gumroad is the one purchase and download channel. When the listing is live, checkout happens there and a checksum is published with the file. The app does not send telemetry, crash reports, or the URLs you paste.

## This website

This marketing site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read. That measurement applies only to keepcopy.app (or whatever domain is serving these pages). It does not run inside the desktop app, and it cannot see the URLs you paste there.

We do not use the website to collect video links, account logins, or crash reports from the app. If you buy through Gumroad, Gumroad’s own checkout and privacy policy apply to that purchase.
