# Terms of use

KeepCopy is a desktop video downloader. This page says who the copy is for. It is not a privacy policy and it is not a license for the open-source tools the app includes.

Last updated August 19, 2026.

## Intended use

KeepCopy is for saving copies of content you have the legal right to access and keep. You must follow the terms of the site you paste from, and the law where you are. Evolving Curiosity is not responsible for what you choose to download.

## Intended copies

These are examples, not a license:

- Your own uploads.
- Material a rights holder said you may keep as a file.
- Public domain, or a license that allows a local copy.

Watching or streaming is not the same as a right to save. A host’s official offline feature, when it has one, stays inside that host’s app.

## Your responsibility

- You choose the link. The app inspects and saves on this computer. We do not see the URL.
- The site you paste from has its own terms. Those terms, and the law where you are, are yours to follow.
- This page does not say a given download is legal. It does not grant rights the host or a rights holder did not give you.

## What this page is not

- Not permission from a host or a rights holder.
- Not a license to anyone’s catalog.
- Site access reuses a browser session already on this computer. It does not create a subscription, unlock a paywall, or grant a right to keep.
- Do not use the app to bypass DRM or other technical protections, or to get at content you cannot already open in a signed-in browser.

## Other notices

What the app keeps on this computer, and what this website measures, is on [Privacy](https://keepcopy.app/privacy).

The third-party software the app includes, and how to get its source, is on [Licenses](https://keepcopy.app/licenses).
